What Is SEO?
SEO is a service where we insert keyword phrases into strategic locations on each page of a website. The content is cataloged, or crawled, by search engines such as Google and Bing, to receive a “relevancy score.” The more relevant a page, the higher the score. The higher the score, the more likely your content appears in searches.
Why Optimize Website Pages?
“Build it, and they will come.” Sorry, that only works in the movies. Regardless of how much a website costs, web page optimizing is not automatically included. Achieving internet visibility requires a detailed plan, focused execution, and time for the results to build.
Key Elements of Page Optimization
A website has two styles of visitors, real people, and search engines. There is a common goal, to make the content understandable if only scanned. Each page must be unique, having one Theme or Keyword (i.e., a product or service), and one explanation supporting the topic.
Each page must contain the following to achieve a reasonable relevancy score:
- Page Title Tag – A 70-character explanation or call-to-action including business name and page keyword that is visible to people and search engines in the tab above URL when your cursor hovers over the tab.
- H1 Tag – The main keyword or phrase in the largest, boldest font at the top of the content, like at the top of this page.
- Meta Description – A 160-character explanation of the page topic using alternative, synonymous and similar terms that is viewed by search engines only.
